The farm
Around the world, farmers are rediscovering ways of working with nature rather than against it.Â

Matmoura exists to learn from these experiences and build on Tunisia's own agricultural traditions. Not simply to grow food, but to demonstrate how healthy land can strengthen ecosystems, livelihoods and communities.

The numbers
136
hectares
10,000
olive trees
6,000
almond trees

Existing olive and almond orchards form the heart of our farm. Around them, we’re introducing a wider mix of crops, herbs and medicinal plants, grazing animals, agroforestry and areas for nature to recover.

Our regenerative methods

Our overarching farming approach: diverse, integrated systems designed around the ecology of the landscape.
Combining trees, crops, herbs and livestock to create productive, resilient systems.
A mindful way to grow food that learns from the forest, creating a lush ecosystem where nature does the work.
We gently shape the land to welcome rainfall, slowing down runoff to nourish the soil and hydrate our fields.
We embrace smart tools and data to nurture our crops and soil gently, ensuring every resource is used wisely.
Restoring native vegetation, habitats and riparian areas alongside productive farmland.
Our farm is only the starting point.

Through our education center and research collaborations, we're taking what we learn out into the wider community. Our aim - to make it easier for more people to farm in ways that are better for the land, their livelihoods and wellbeing.
One farm cannot transform Tunisia.
But it can help show what's possible.
